Trash bin cleaning in Golden Beach

Golden Beach is unusual: about a mile of coastline, a few hundred homes, no condominium towers and no commercial strip. Every property is a private residence, and the town's character depends on nothing unsightly being visible from the street — which means carts live in screened enclosures, behind gates, or in garages rather than beside the driveway.

That is a good look and a bad environment. An enclosed bin store gets no sun and little airflow, so the interior of a cart stored there stays damp indefinitely, and the odor that would disperse in an open side yard instead concentrates in a space someone has to walk through. Here the problem is almost never how a bin looks. It is that the enclosure has started to smell, or that staff have mentioned it.

Being directly on the ocean adds constant salt-laden humidity to that, and the town's drainage runs straight toward the water, which is why rinsing a bin out onto a driveway is not the way to do it here.
