Residential trash bin cleaning

A residential cleaning covers everything that touches waste: the interior walls, the base where liquid collects, the rim, the underside of the lid and the outside shell. We work at the curb using heated water the truck carries, delivered at a pressure high enough to strip a bonded film off plastic without damaging it.

The heat matters more than the pressure. Food waste leaves fats, sugars and proteins that dry into a layer bonded to the cart wall, and bacteria colonize that layer — which is what you are actually smelling. Cold water at hose pressure pushes the top of it around and leaves the rest. Heated water releases the bond so the pressure can carry it away, and it sanitizes as it goes.

After the wash, a biodegradable sanitizing and deodorizing treatment goes in behind it. It is safe around children and pets once applied, and it leaves no chemical smell to wait out. We bring our own water and tidy the area before we leave, rather than sending what came off the bin toward the nearest storm drain.

Most households settle on monthly. Larger families, households with diapers in the cart, and anyone whose bin sits in full sun usually shorten that through the summer and stretch it again in winter. You can change the interval or pause it any time — there is no contract and no fee for changing your mind.
