Dumpster cleaning in Hallandale Beach is the condo or apartment building's job, not the city's. The City of Hallandale Beach collects the garbage from multifamily buildings, but its code tells whoever keeps a garbage receptacle to clean and deodorize it weekly, and makes the owner responsible for cleaning containers kept in a building's trash room. The BinFather does that cleaning for Broward condo and apartment buildings.
That covers the oceanfront towers along South Ocean Drive and A1A, the mid-rises west of US-1, and older buildings with a front-load dumpster behind a block wall. Every rule below links to the city's own code.

Who collects the garbage from Hallandale Beach condo and apartment buildings?
The City of Hallandale Beach collects it. Its Public Works Department lists residential and commercial garbage collection among the duties of its Sanitation division, and the city code says garbage produced in the city is collected by the city unless a hauler holds a city permit (Sec. 32-639).
Buildings of five or more units are not on the curbside cart system. Under Sec. 32-634, they use one or more bulk waste containers big enough to hold everything the units produce. One more change worth knowing: the city's Sanitation FAQ says residential, multifamily and commercial recycling collection was suspended from October 1, 2025.
Who is responsible for cleaning a condo dumpster in Hallandale Beach?
The building is. Sec. 32-637(b) of the Hallandale Beach code says garbage receptacles must be kept sanitary, and that the people who own, possess or maintain them "shall clean and deodorize them on a weekly basis."
A collection truck lifts the container, tips it and sets it down. Nothing in that washes it.
For towers that keep their containers indoors, the code is even more direct. Sec. 32-635(b)(5) allows garbage storage rooms inside the building. It makes the owner or person in charge responsible for seeing that containers are rolled out, cleaned and returned after collection. In a condominium that usually means the association, through its manager; our post on who cleans a shared cart bank walks through how to tell.
What does Hallandale Beach require of a dumpster enclosure?
Hallandale Beach requires the dumpster at a building of five or more units to sit inside an opaque wood or masonry enclosure, kept in good condition at all times, with the garbage inside the container and the gates kept closed except during use or service. The full standards are in Sec. 32-635(b).
The appearance and maintenance rules, in short:
- Walls and gates painted in a colour compatible with the building, and no patchwork painting.
- No signs or graffiti on the walls or gates.
- Peeling, fading or chipped paint restored, and structural damage repaired.
- Trash kept in the container, never piled around it or outside the enclosure.
- Gates closed and secured except when someone is using the container or it is being serviced.
The city treats this as an enforceable item. Its schedule of code violations lists "dumpster enclosure not maintained" as a Class II violation, and Sec. 9-55 sets a Class II fine at $250 plus administrative costs.
Why does an apartment dumpster smell so bad in Hallandale?
An apartment dumpster in Hallandale smells because it is never empty for long and never washed. A shared container serving dozens of units is refilled the same day it is emptied, so the residue on its floor and walls never dries out. In coastal Broward heat, that organic layer is what you smell from the parking lot, long after the truck has left.
Older buildings add a second source: the pad. Liquid runs out of the container, dries on the concrete inside the enclosure, and gets topped up every week. A clean container sitting on a dirty pad still draws flies by evening.
Towers add a third: the chute room. Bags split on the way down, the cart under the chute catches the drips, and the room has little airflow.
What does condo trash room cleaning in Hallandale Beach include?
Condo trash room cleaning by The BinFather covers the carts, the chute opening area and the room itself. We do not work inside the chute shaft or on compactor machinery. Outside, we clean front-load dumpsters, roll carts, shared cart banks and the corral or enclosure they stand in.
How a visit runs:
- 01We come after collection, when the containers are as empty as they get, and outside resident hours.
- 02We bring our own water and our own equipment, so nothing is drawn from the building.
- 03We clean the containers inside and out, then the floor or pad they sit on.
- 04The dirty water goes into a collection tank on our truck or trailer — nothing is left on your property.
Details for associations and managers are on our commercial and dumpster cleaning page. Owners of houses and small buildings on the city's curbside carts can see the Hallandale Beach bin cleaning page instead.
How much does dumpster cleaning cost for a Hallandale Beach building?
Dumpster cleaning for a Hallandale Beach building starts from $99 for a single container. The price changes with how many containers there are, their size and how often they need doing.
A mid-rise with one front-load dumpster in a block enclosure is not the same job as a tower with a chute room and a bank of carts, which is why the price moves with the job.
The short version
In Hallandale Beach the city collects a condo or apartment building's garbage, but the code puts the cleaning on the building: receptacles cleaned and deodorized weekly, trash room containers cleaned by the owner, and enclosures kept painted, closed and tidy. The truck takes the garbage. The smell stays unless somebody washes the container and the ground under it.
