On the ground in Miami Beach
What does living on a barrier island do to a trash bin in Miami Beach?
Every cart in Miami Beach lives a few blocks from salt water, and it shows. Salt settles on the lid and rim and holds moisture there, so the plastic never fully dries and the grime it collects is sticky rather than dusty. Hinges and wheel axles stiffen faster than on the mainland, and a quick rinse with a hose spreads that film around instead of lifting it.
South Beach is mostly small apartment buildings and condos, many of them older low-rise buildings that put their carts and dumpsters out in the rear alley. Those containers serve a whole building, sit in the heat all day, and are where the block's flies and rats start. They are a building job, quoted per property and cleaned right after the hauler has been.
Mid-Beach and the north end are different. In Nautilus, La Gorce, Bayshore, the Sunset and Normandy Isles and Biscayne Point, single-family homes keep their carts in side yards and behind gates, often on bay-front lots where the air is as salty as on the ocean side. Some of the lowest streets on the island take water at the highest tides, and a cart that has stood in it needs more than a rinse.
We work the island on your collection day, after the truck has emptied the cart. Tell us the day and any gate code when you book online.

Miami Beach questions
Asked and answered
Do you clean dumpsters for South Beach apartment buildings?
Yes — the carts and dumpsters in the rear alley or the trash room, cleaned after the hauler has been. Buildings are priced by quote, so request one through the commercial quote form with the number and size of containers.
Our house is on one of the islands, behind a gate. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Add the gate code and where the cart is kept to the notes when you book online. It stays on your account, so you only give it once.
Does the salt air really make a difference to the bin?
Yes. Salt holds moisture on the plastic, so residue never dries out and the smell builds faster than inland. Heated water lifts that sticky film where a garden hose only spreads it, and it is why a regular schedule matters more on the island than on the mainland.
