INT. The cart — the wash
The method
Heat is the whole trick
Professional trash bin cleaning strips the bacterial film off the inside of a cart with heated water at high pressure, then sanitizes and deodorizes it. The BinFather does it at your curb in four steps, on your collection day, once the truck has emptied it. Anyone can spray a bin with cold water — it loosens the debris and leaves the film, which is why the smell is back within the hour.
Why heat
Why does a trash bin need hot water to get clean?
Cold water relocates. Hot water removes.
What coats the inside of a neglected cart is not loose dirt. Fats, sugars and proteins from food waste bond to the plastic and dry into a film, and bacteria colonize it. That film is the smell.
Cold water at garden-hose pressure cannot break that bond. It pushes the top layer around and leaves the rest, which is why rinsing a bin works for about an hour.
Heat is what changes the outcome. At the temperature we run, the fats release, the bond fails, and high pressure carries the material off the wall instead of smearing it. The heat also does the sanitizing work that no amount of cold pressure will.

Start to finish
How does professional trash bin cleaning work?
Four steps, and you are not one of them.
- 01
We come to you
On your collection day, once the truck has emptied the cart. Nothing for you to move, rinse, or be home for.
- 02
Deep clean, complete coverage
Our professional cleaning process thoroughly cleans every interior wall, lid, and rim — removing built-up grime and leaving your bins fresh and clean.
- 03
Sanitize and deodorize
A biodegradable, pet- and kid-safe treatment goes in behind the wash. It kills bacteria and takes the smell with it.
- 04
We clean up after ourselves
We tidy the area around the bin before we go, so all that is left behind is a clean container ready to use.
Is anything left behind at the curb?
No. We take care of the entire cleaning process at your curb, keeping the surrounding area clean and leaving your bins fresh and ready to use.
Is the bin cleaning treatment safe around kids and pets?
Yes. The sanitizing and deodorizing treatment is biodegradable and safe once applied. Nothing is left pooled on the driveway and there is no chemical smell to wait out.
Will heated pressure washing damage my trash cart?
No. Municipal carts are high-density polyethylene, rated well above the temperature we use. We work at a distance rather than holding the wand against the wall, and we clean the lid, rim and exterior as well as the inside.
