Garbage in Weston, Florida is collected twice a week by Republic Services under a city contract, on a pair of days set by your street, and recycling is collected once a week on one of those days. The city redrew every route on June 3, 2024, and its official Solid Waste Collection Schedule map shows the current garbage, recycling and bulk days for any Weston address.

How do I find my garbage pickup day in Weston?

You find your Weston garbage pickup day on the city's Solid Waste Collection Schedule map. Search your full address, click your property, and the map lists your garbage days, your recycling day and your bulk week.

Check it even if you have lived in Weston for years. Every route in the city changed on June 3, 2024, so a day remembered from before then may be wrong. The city's garbage service page also links Republic's "Track My Truck" tool, which shows whether your street has been collected yet.

When can I put my trash cart out in Weston, and when must it come back in?

In Weston a garbage cart can go out no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the evening before collection and must be put away by 9:00 p.m. on collection day. The recycling cart follows the same evening rule but has to be stored an hour earlier, by 8:00 p.m. Both rules are in Chapter 110 of the city code.

The city asks for carts at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on collection day. The code adds how they sit there:

  • within two feet of the curb, with the handle facing the curb;
  • three feet clear of trees, mailboxes, parked cars and utility lines, and of the other cart.

Between pickups the cart has to be shielded from view of the street and of the neighboring house, by landscaping, by screening or inside an enclosed garage. Most Weston carts therefore live in the garage.

What goes in a Weston trash cart, and what doesn't?

Household garbage goes in bags, inside the city-issued cart. The code allows only city-provided carts, and the city says garbage left outside the cart or on top of the lid is not collected. Fill the cart so the lid still closes.

A few more rules from the city's own pages:

  • Palm fronds that do not fit in the cart can go on the ground beside it, but only on the first collection day of the week. Waste a landscaper produces is the landscaper's to remove.
  • Recycling goes in the recycling cart once a week. The city's recycling page asks for items empty, clean and dry, and warns that food residue draws rats and other pests.
  • Bulk is collected four times a year, in January, April, July and October, in the week shown on your map. October 2026 is a bulk month; the next one is January 2027.
  • Holidays. Christmas Day is the only day without collection. In 2026 it falls on a Friday, so a Friday collection moves to your next scheduled day. Thanksgiving collection runs as normal.

Who replaces a broken or stolen trash cart in Weston?

Republic Services replaces Weston carts. The city says a broken cart is replaced free of charge, and stolen or replacement carts are requested through Republic as well. Because only city-issued carts are emptied, a homemade substitute will be left at the curb.

Why does a Weston trash cart smell, even with twice-weekly pickup?

A Weston trash cart smells, even with two pickups a week, because collection empties the cart without cleaning it. Bags tear and leak, liquid settles in the base, and residue bakes onto the walls and under the lid. Twice-weekly pickup keeps the cart in use nearly every day, so that layer never gets a long dry spell.

Then the code sends the cart into the garage, out of the sun and the breeze. The odor that would drift away in an open side yard concentrates where you park the car, and it is strongest in summer.

The fix is to remove the residue, not to cover it. That is what The BinFather does in Weston: we wash the cart at the curb with heated water at high pressure, sanitize and deodorize it, on one of your two garbage days, once the truck has emptied it. Nobody needs to be home. The dirty water goes into a collection tank on our truck or trailer — nothing is left on your property.

On the monthly plan it is $30 a cleaning with two bins included, or $65 for a one-time clean; the full list is on the pricing page, and our Weston page covers the neighborhoods we serve.

The short version

  • Republic Services collects Weston garbage twice a week and recycling once a week, on days set by your street.
  • Look your days up on the city's Solid Waste Collection Schedule map; every route changed on June 3, 2024.
  • Carts go out after 6:00 p.m. the night before, come back by 9:00 p.m. (recycling 8:00 p.m.) and stay out of sight between pickups.
  • Pickup empties the cart but never cleans it, and a garage cart holds its smell.
