Miramar HOA trash can cleaning means the association hires one company to wash every home's garbage carts across the community. In Miramar, in Broward County, the city empties the green carts twice a week but does not wash them, and asks residents to wash them. The BinFather cleans every cart in a townhouse, villa or condo community at the curb on collection day, billed to the association.
This is for boards and property managers of the townhouse and villa communities west of Flamingo Road, the condos off Miramar Parkway and the older villa rows in east Miramar. Every rule below links to the city's own pages or code.

How does Miramar's residential garbage collection work?
The City of Miramar collects the green trash cart twice a week, and only city-issued carts are serviced. Its Garbage Collection page asks residents to bag and tie garbage and set the cart within 3 feet of the street by 7 a.m. on collection day. For damaged carts and missed pickups, it sends residents to Waste Pro.
The city code adds the timing. Sec. 18-26 says carts may not go out before 4:00 p.m. the day before collection, must be tightly covered with a lid, and must be returned to the home by the end of the collection day. The city's Solid Waste FAQ adds that the carts belong to the City of Miramar and stay with the residence.
Does Miramar require garbage carts to be kept clean or out of view?
Miramar does not set a cleaning schedule for household carts, but its code comes close on both smell and sight. Sec. 10-124 says waste may only be kept in "properly secured containers from which no odors may arise", and that garbage cans must be located or screened so they are not visible from streets.
The same section says containers must be retrieved and stored on the day of pickup, and the city's collection guidelines tell residents to periodically wash their carts with water and antibacterial dish detergent.
Condo buildings work differently. Under Sec. 18-28, multi-family establishments, including multiple-story condominiums, keep their carts or dumpsters in an approved, screened enclosure, and the owner must keep the gates closed when the hauler is not using them.
Who is responsible for cleaning the trash carts in a Miramar HOA community?
In a Miramar HOA community, each household is responsible for its own cart unless the association takes the job on. The city owns the carts and the collection crew empties them, but neither one washes them.
That leaves every household meant to scrub its own cart, and a board that hears about the ones that don't. One community contract is simpler than reminder letters. Communities that share a cart bank or corral have a different question, covered in our post on who cleans a shared corral.
Why do carts in Miramar townhouse communities need cleaning?
Carts in Miramar townhouse communities need cleaning because they are refilled twice a week, rarely dry out, and wait between pickups out of sight, usually in a garage or screened alcove with little airflow.
Townhouse rows add a neighbour problem, which is why townhouse community bin cleaning in Miramar works best when every cart is on the same schedule. Carts line up side by side on collection day, so the whole row smells one neglected cart.
How does a community-wide HOA garbage can cleaning service work?
A community-wide HOA garbage can cleaning service covers every cart under one agreement, priced per cart for the whole community and billed to the association, so residents have nothing to sign or pay.
How it runs with The BinFather:
- 01Residents put their carts out exactly as the city rules already require.
- 02On collection day, after the truck has emptied them, we clean each cart at the curb: inside, outside, lid and base.
- 03We bring our own water, so nothing is drawn from any home or the common areas.
- 04The dirty water goes into a collection tank on our truck or trailer — nothing is left on your property.
- 05Residents bring the clean carts back in by the end of the day, as Sec. 18-26 already asks.
For condo buildings with an enclosure, we clean front-load dumpsters, roll carts, shared cart banks, corrals and chute rooms — in a chute room, the carts, the chute opening area and the room itself — after collection and outside resident hours.
How much does HOA trash can cleaning cost in Miramar?
HOA trash can cleaning in Miramar is quoted per cart for the whole community, so the price depends on how many carts there are and how often the board wants them done. For condo buildings with containers in an enclosure, cleaning starts from $99 for a single container, and the price changes with how many containers there are, their size and frequency.
Boards and managers will find details on our commercial and HOA cleaning page; homeowners outside a community contract can see the Miramar bin cleaning page.
What should a Miramar board check before starting a cart cleaning contract?
A Miramar board should settle four things first:
- Which carts are included. Count every cart on the schedule.
- The collection days. Check the city's schedule, so cleaning lands after the truck.
- The governing documents. Confirm the board can contract and budget for it.
- The notice to residents. Carts will be cleaned at the curb after pickup and come back in the same day as usual.
The short version
Miramar empties the green carts twice a week, asks residents to wash them, and expects them stored out of sight with no odour. For a townhouse, villa or condo community, the simplest answer is one association contract: every cart cleaned at the curb on collection day, after the truck, billed to the association. The cart can ask for the floor. The board does not have to give it one.
